The Pop Hot Spot Festival needed a regular site and a mobile site. For both sites the program of the Festival was the most important. Other communication forms like posters, flyers, booklets, etc were created by a designer and the design of the website had to be similar.
I took a good look at the existing design and soon it was clear that I had to find a good way to use "exotic" fonts in my design for the website, because the existing design used 2 fonts real prominent. So I used the cufon plug-in for Wordpress, because this is a very good and search engine friendly solution to implement such custom fonts.
Furthermore I added the liststyle of bands of the poster to the website. This part is always in sight and that way it will inspire visitors to click the band names. And ofcourse they can also use a traditional way of program to view the performances during the festival.
After a performance has taken place it will still be viewable (to show visitors what acts were at the festival) but it's not clickable anymore and the colors and text will change to make clear to the visitors that this performance was in the past.
I used a plug-in for Wordpress to find out whether a visitor is using a browser on a computer or on a mobile device. For the mobile phones I created a different theme, which is a lot cleaner than the regular site, but still gives you all the information you need and has the look and feel of all the other communication forms.
